Stanbic Uganda Cup: Shockers at R64, Small Boys Deliberately Continue to ‘Disrespect’ Big Boys

While holding draws for the round of 64 of the 48th edition of Stanbic Uganda Cup at FUFA Complex in Mengo early this month, the Organizers did a favor to the lower division teams in that it was them to host the fixtures.

On a lay man understanding, one would believe that these clubs in division two and topflight will just sail through to next round even if they are on road against the lower sides however, its the other way round.

The ‘small Boys’ are deliberately disrespecting these ‘big boys’, so far the played fixtures, a number of regional league clubs have eliminated the big league sides from the cup.

The first day of round of 64, four games were on card and we saw two big league clubs being dumped out of the Tournament.

Booma FC, a Kitara Regional League side at Masindi comfortably beat Big League side, Nyamityobora FC 4-1 and Kataka FC, one of the top performers in second tier, shockingly, one goal was enough for them to be dumped out of the race by Rusekere Growers FC.

The Uganda Premier League side, Gaddafi FC needed spot kicks to eliminate Heros FC a third division side from Lira, Gaddafi failed to net even a single goal in normal time.

Maybe Bundimasoli feared the name BUL, they disappointed the small boys league, they did not show up at their own home ground, and BUL FC won the game by forfeiture and Qualifiered to round 32.

On Wednesday, the games Continued, again we saw Kajjasi United a Buganda Regional League side convincingly beating MYDA FC, 3-0 at Kajjasi, and a UPL side, Wakiso Giants needed a goal from Moses Aliro to eliminate resilient Kiyinda Boys, and Tepa FC from North Eastern beat Seeta UTD, 3-1.

On Thursday, Police FC are visiting the Bushenyi Veterans at Bushenyi Stadium.
