Stanbic Uganda Cup: Round of 64 Draws Held as Tournament Sponsors Donate Branded Sets of Jersey to Lower League Clubs
The round of 64 of the 48th Edition of Stanbic Uganda Cup draws held today morning at FUFA headquarters in Mengo.
The draws were graced by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) 3rd Vice President, Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi and she revealed that this edition, all the 37 Qualifiered clubs from regional leagues and the fourth and fifth division will be getting the Tournament jerseys fully branded with Sponsors logos.
“I am happy that the Sponsors we unveiled two years back, (Plascon) are still with us and going forward financing the tournament. This season they have added more ingredients and the 37 Qualifiered lower leagues clubs will each be getting a branded set of jersey from the Sponsors. “ Said Nakiwala.
However, according to Competitions Director, Hajjat Aisha Nalule, it’s not mandatory for clubs to wear them during the league.
“It’s not a must that these jerseys will be done by the clubs though we would like it to be like that to promote the brand. Those who feel free with it, they will wear them during the matches. ” Said Hajjat Aisha Nalule.
The draws which were held today, it’s the division two (Big league) and topflight league clubs (Uganda Premier League) to travel at this round.
The reigning Champions, Vipers Sports Club will be on road visiting Kigezi Homeboys FC a western regional league side.
The prize money for this edition has been increased from 166 million of last season to 179M and 32 teams are up to win this money, with the top winner, taking 50M, Runners up 25 and the semifinalists enjoying 12M each.

Winner: 50M (1 team)
Runner up: 25M (1 team)
SemiFinalists: 12M each (2 teams)
Quarter Finalists: 6M each (4 teams)
Round of 16: 3M each (8 Teams)
Round of 32: 2M each (16 teams)
The round of 64 is of one leg encounter and the winner of the tie will be qualifying to round of 32 and the games will be played between 18th and 25th January 2022.
