Sports is a Tool For Social Change – Hopeful Future HM

Hundreds of primary going pupils in Kayunga District turned for the finals of the qualifiers of Uganda Primary Schools Sports Associations ball games hosted at Hopeful Future Secondary School on Tuesday 12th, August 2025 in different categories of both genders.

While addressing the audience, Vicent Sserunkuma, the head teacher of Hopeful Future Secondary School Kayunga, called on the public to always use sports as a tool to change the community.

“We have talents in Kayunga District, but only that we have not given it time to develop and support these young girls and boys to benefit from them. Sports is a tool for social change.” Stated, Sserunkuma

“This year 2025, our girls football team finished 14th countrywide in the recently concluded ball games one hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive School, and the netball team also qualified to nationals for the first time. This drives us to invest in some money to sponsor these primary going children an opportunity to showcase their best. “ Added Sserunkuma.

Hopeful Future Secondary School sponsored the district with six (6) trophies, medals to winners, and 1st runners up in six categories and also a ball to the top scorers and shooters.

The event was attended by Hopeful Future Secondary school director, Theodorous Kombe Lyazi, Senior Education Officer Ronald Mukiibi, outgoing chairman games and sports committee, Paul Kasadha, Area Inspector of Schools Bonny, Christopher Kibirige the district sports officer, to mention but a few.

“We give sports bursaries to students who have talents and ready to study and develop them. In this, we have girls football, boys football, and netball with all our teams doing well from District to Nationals”. Said Theodorous Kombe Lyazi, the director of Hopeful Future Secondary School

It was a moment of praise from all the guest speakers to the school director for injecting in cash to have a beautiful function it was.

For starters, Hopeful Future Secondary School is a secondary school mixed both O and A Level with Arts and Sciences.

The school is located in Ntooke Village, Mukono – Kayunga Road, 1 Kilometer after Ssezibwa Bridge while heading to Kayunga. The school has a UNEB center number U2954/Registration Number PSS/H101
