FEASSA Games 2025: Agnes Nabukenya Brace Secures Kawempe’s First Win of the Tournament

Agnes Nabukenya continues to lift Kawempe Muslim SS and on Sunday afternoon she scored a brace that won the Valley Wars their maiden today encounter. 

The Uganda’s Women football powerhouse,beat Rwanda’s PSBB Huye side 2-1 at Kakamega High School playground. 

The free scoring midfielder handed Kawempe a lead in the 22nd minute with a simple chip over the goalkeeper, thanks to Tracy Nabalanzi well calculated through ball that beat off two defenders for Agnes to go one on one with the keeper. 

The first stanza went down 1-0 with the three time champions in the lead. 

Ten minutes into second stanza, Huye leveled the matters with a free kick taken at least 30 yards from the goal line. 

Kawempe regained the lead in the second minute of the added three, Agnes Nabukenya again returned to lift her side with a goal poacher’s finish, thanks to Kirenga Cynthia inside the box pass that found well positioned Agnes. 

The win took Kawempe to five points in three played matches, two behind the table leaders, St. Noa Girls SS who are on seven points. 

The Ayubu Khalifa charges will return to action on Monday morning hosting Kenya’s Nasokol at Mukumu Boys playground in Kakamega.

Elsewhere, St Noa Girls retuned to winning ways with a 4-0 thrashing over Tanzania’s Alliance Schools. Thanks to a brace from Sylvia Kabene, Esther Babirye and Zainabu Birungi.
