Sponsorship: Wakiso Giants ‘Dumps’ Wardwizards, Marries 1xBet For a Year
The Uganda Premier League side, Wakiso Giants Football Club entered into a one year partnership with an online betting company, 1xBet for a period of 12 months.
1xBet came as shirt sponsors for Wakiso Giants replacing the Motor-bike makers, Wardwizards who were at the Purple Sharks shirt since June 2019.
The betting company going to be the principal shirt partners with a deal worth 65,000 United States dollars [234,000,000] at rate of 3600/- per dollar and the deal was unveiled on Friday, 13th May 2022 at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo.
Wakiso Giants CEO, Sula Kamoga expressed his gratitude towards 1xBet for giving them a better deal compared to their former partners.

They are partners of many international clubs probably the reason they had to work with another brand in the names of Wakiso Giants football club in a partnership that will last for one year for start.
They become our latest sponsor, following a series of sponsorships and partnerships at indicator that we are growing stronger and that we are a trusted brand committed to our goal .” Said Sula Kamoga, the club CEO.
Anthony Dhabangi, the Operational Manager also commented about the deal and revealed why they chose Wakiso Giants ahead of other clubs.
“We have been working with African football leagues and clubs for long time, Wakiso Giants is a signing that we are very pleased with.” Dhabangi said before adding. ” Since 2009, this team has come a long way and is now well-known to fans in the country and beyond. Such dynamics attract us because we ourselves were founded in 2007, and we know how difficult it is to break through to the top in a competitive environment.
Humphrey Mandy, the Deputy CEO of FUFA represented the FA at the event.
1xBet is a global betting company, that came into existence in 2007 and is an online betting site. In Uganda they have partnered with A1 Challenge, a ladies basketball team, they also partnered with Tooro United before joining Wakiso Giants.
