Today, Monday 17th, October 2022, at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, Uganda Premier League (UPL) powerhouse, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC, are set to play “night” football again, they signed a whooping deal with a new sponsor in Chint Technologies.
Chint Technologies is now the new principal sponsor and lighting partner of KCCA FC.
Crucial to highlight in this new deal is that Chint Technologies will give KCCA FC lights to make the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo shine at night as if it were day.
KCCA FC CEO, Madam Anisha Muhoozi, was clearly ecstatic about the massive development in her statement.
“Starting the second round of the UPL season, we will host league games at night.
We decided to look for them (Chint) to light up our stadium,” Mrs Muhoozi said during the press conference.
“We are visionaries, and we want to bring life back to football in Uganda. Most of our fans are always at work during the normal kickoff times at 4pm, but with night football, we expect large crowds. And Lugogo will hence be known as home of night football,” Mrs Muhoozi added in clear excitement.

Chint will appear on the front of the KCCA FC shirts, replacing See TV, whose sponsorship deal was recently terminated.
The new deal is worth Shs 300 million for a period of three years.
Managing Director of Chint Technologies, Mrs Sherry Shi, said that the talks with KCCA FC started way back in 2018.
“It’s a great pleasure to have KCCA FC on board. I believe that this is a step [taken] with the right club at the right time and also the right direction, because we are partnering with the best club in the country, and we are honoured that you (KCCA FC) have chosen us to provide your lighting solutions,” Mrs Shi said.
Chint Technologies join other sponsors at the team including MTN (stadium naming sponsor), Britam (insurance partner), Mpatanel (warm-up kit), Blink Logistics (press conference partner) and 22 Bet (awards partner).
KCCA FC Chairman, Martin Ssekajja, said that the deal will motivate the club to aspire for greater heights and better performances.
“With Chint on board, we hope to have more ‘electricity’ in the team to spur us back to the continent. We want to be the best team in Africa by 2030, and we have started now,” Mr Ssekajja said.
KCCA Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, who doubles as the club patron, says that the club will do their best to promote Chint, and hence called onto the players and technical team to step up their performance.
