SHAME! UNF Former President Susan Anek Caught Red-handed ‘Selling’ Uganda’s Netball to S.Africa
In the real or humanitarian ground, the former president or leader of any organisation, institution or Federation should be giving guidance to the newcomers but with Uganda Netball Federation, it’s another story.
Everyday comes, the nation gets new weird information and news making around in the game of Netball.
The information and linked audios from the president of Uganda Netball Federation, Hon. Babirye Kityo Sarah tabling evidence that her predecessor, Susan Anek, National Council of Sports General Secretary, Dr. Bernard Ogwel conniving with South African president Cecilia Molokwane, Joan Smith (Africa Netball development officer) and Susan Anek (former UNF President) to deliberately sink Uganda’s Netball that has been started taking a centre stage on continent.
For starters, the wrangles and attacks towards the current executive got hype when the three executive members in Yahaya Ssengabi (Publicity Secretary), Aminah Mande (General Secretary), and Richard Muhumuza (Vice President Technical) were suspended and banned.
Where does, Former President Susan Anek come into the equation?
According to inside sources, Dr. Bernard Ogwel and Anek never wanted the latter to leave office that was taken by Babirye and the two alleged to have been holding meetings paving ways how to force Babirye out and they involved South African Netball president who doubles as the Africa Netball president Cecilia Molokwane who also developed fears in Babirye, to whom, she thinks can take her seat in the coming Netball Africa elections.
With Susan Anek, she wanted to be part of the contingent that will be traveling to England for Birmingham Commonwealth Games in July this year and had a belief that Ogwel will help her in doing so. There was also a plan in pipeline that if the plan to force Babirye out office, the normalization Committee would be formed and Anek was to chair that Committee.
How the UNF President ran into the move;
When she took over after the elections, held on 05th June 2021 at MTN Arena Lugogo, Anek and her executive first refused to hand over the office, to reconcile, the African President, Cecilia Molokwane, Joan Smith, Babirye Kityo and Susan Anek formed a WhatsApp group to discuss the handover.
However, this group later turned to be a platform for Molokwane and Anek to discuss how Kityo would be thrown out.

“Now what happened, God confused madam Anek, she went on the other forum for the hand over of Uganda, because after getting misunderstanding there, I didn’t quite the forum but I did not type again, write or comment anything. So somehow, she didn’t know that I was still on that forum, she sent a met that am going to share with you. “ Kityo Sarah narrating to Uganda Federations presidents on their forum in an audio that linked.
“… reporting to the president of South Africa how the deal was done and how very soon Babirye and her team are going to be history….I took a screenshot, after posting that, I posted on the same forum saying, Congs team, she deleted whatever she had posted. ” The audio in Babirye’s voice Continues…
The news also reached at the African continent and many were not happy with South Africa President’s move to sabotage Uganda’s progress..the audio tells it all
“It’s so frustrating to be seeing things happening, South Africa doesn’t want to be seeing other countries growing an becoming better. So she can’t be using them to destroy Uganda, we have seen what the current president is doing. ”
“The current president is doing so well, Uganda netball is growing, it’s so amazing. So we can’t be allowing this Lady to do such stuff, we need to stand up as Africa to avoid this. ”
