Regional League: Amasha and His Backroom Staff Sacked By Lugazi FC After a Draw With Butema

Lugazi football club have sacked their head coach, Henry Amasha and his backroom staff following a one all draw with Butema Soccer Masters played on Sunday 23rd, January 2022 at Buikwe Stadium.

The Buganda Regional league side was forced to sack Amasha and his assistants, Moses Bulega, Emmanuel Feni from their duties following to what they have termed as under performance.

Amasha and his backroom staff were appointed in 2020/21 football season but due to COVID-19 Pandemic they have not been facing an challenge as there has been no competition.

In 2021/22, they have been in charge of five (5) games winning two (2) games, drawn two and lost one.

The two wins came against helpless Manyangwa football club in their league opener by 4-0 scoreline at home and an away win over Synergy football club by 2-1 at UEB grounds in Njeru.

Lugazi Football club two draws were against Kira United Football club in Kira and Butema Soccer Masters at their new home, Buikwe Stadium. All the games ended in a one all draw and Lugazi was coming from behind to secure points.

Their sole loss was in 48th edition of the Stanbic Uganda cup against on-form Kajjansi United which ended in a 3-2 score line.

Lugazi football club now stands in the 3rd position on table with 8 points from the four games played in Ssezibwa group of the 2021/22 Buganda Regional League. They are 2 points less to the table leaders, Free Stars football club (10 points) and one below second placed side, Seeta United football club (9points).

The club is yet to name the coaching staff that will handle the club as they look forward to reaching their dream of gaining promotion to second tier league of Uganda football, the FUFA Big League.

In the game Lugazi will visit Simba football club on Sunday 30th, January 2022 at Namulonge playgrounds.

Lugazi football club Joins clubs like Buikwe Red Stars and Masaka City Sports Club who also parted ways with their head coach Meddy Nyanzi and Noah Mugerwa respectively.
