Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards: She Cranes Trio Battle for May Gong
After six month of no show, Netball as sport bounced back on Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards list of those fighting for the best of May.
The Real Stars Sports Agency in conjunction with Fortebet Uganda the main sponsor, Canaan Investments and Jude Colour Solutions revealed a list of five sports disciplines.
Basing on performance they displayed in the 2022 East Africa Netball Championship, She Cranes players, defender, Shaffie Nalwanja, center, and the MVP of the championship, Achan Jessica and shooter, Stella Oyella are battling for the May gong.
The three believe they can win the May gong.
Stella Oyella, the East Africa Netball Championship topscorer and winner with NIC thanked God that she is on the list and glorify him.
“I feel so great to be nominated as a player of the month, this all come from God, I worked to reach here but again I can’t tell that I will be the best, only I will go with what will come because even other players played well.” Said Oyella.
The 2022 East Africa Netball championship Most Valuable player, Jessica Achan was also happy to be among the top three and yearning to defend the gong that was won by Meme Ruth.
“It makes me feel good, it gives me more determined and to work hard and it drives me to work more to bounce back on the nominees list, Meme was the last player to win it, she is from Prisons, if I defend it, it will be good to defend. ” Jessica Achan
Shaffie Nalwanja, KCCA Netball Club defender helped her side to win a silver medal in May.
” I am really excited because it shows that people are seeing what I do and they do believe in me. Being nominated on that list is not a surprise to me, have been named the best Goal keeper twice that means I have worked for it. ” Noted Shaffie Nalwanja.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday.
