Pilsner Monthly Awards: The Six Nominees Revealed

The action packed month of May had a number of performers in the Uganda Premier League and the Pilsner Award organisers put out the best of the month May.

The organizers basing on statistics from Premier League Secretariat released a total of six nominees, from three clubs.

Express, Wakiso Giants and URA FC are the giants in this month.

The award organizers has today released a nomination lists for the best player and coach of May in StarTimes Uganda Premier League and each list has three nominees.

For the best player award list, has Express FC on form foward Eric Kambale, Steven Desse Mukwala of URA FC FC and Vianne Ssekajugo, the purple Shark.

To get on the list Eric Kambale registered a stunning performance, his scoring account for the month of May has eight goals in six games including a hat trick against Kyetume FC while Vianne Ssekajuko putting 6 goals on his name in 5 games as Steven Mukwala still extending his finishing qualities with 4 goals in 5 games.

For Coaches the nomination list, the nominees are Express FC’s Wasswa Bbosa who has driven his side from the third place to the top of the league table with 5 wins in six played games.

Another coach who escorted his player on the list is Douglas Bamweyana of Wakiso Giants who won four games and drew one while Sam Ssimbwa also can allow his consistent goal machine to walk alone.

Both awards were last won by Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte and his boss Baker Mbowa of Soltilo Brightstars when they were announced as April’s best to become the first pair from the same club to win the award in the same month.

The event is expected to be held on Thursday 10th June at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo.
