Pilsner Monthly Award: Aheebwa, Kisala Named December Winners

Kampala Capital City Authority FC goal poacher, Brian Aheebwa and UPDF’s tactician, Kefa Kisala scooped the December gongs as player and coach of the month respectively.

The performance UPDF FC displayed in the first five played games of 2020/21 Uganda Premier League, to the extent that the just promoted side is sitting on the top of the table with 12 points, helped Kisala to beat his counterpart Sam Ssimbwa on the gong of December.

While receiving his accolade from Uganda Premier League board and Pilsner, the award sponsors at Kati Kati restaurant Lugogo, Kisala thanked the UPDF management, the award organisers and his players for the well displayed performance and asked them to be focused.

“I am happy for this accolade, and I appreciate that I have been awarded as the best coach of December, I do appreciate the management of UPDF for putting trust in me to be the coach of UPDF FC.” Kefa Kisala said in his opening remarks.

“I do congratulate my technical team, I myself and the whole team as UPDF, because the competition we put we have managed to top the table. And I believe if we continue doing this, we shall manage to hit out target, because our target was to finish between 1St and 5th position.

I continue to ask my players to stay focused because the line between failure and success is very thin.” Kefa speaking.

Brian Aheebwa who is the current League top scorer with seven goals beat UPDF’s forward, Brian Kalumba and Police FC’s Ben Ocen on the gong.

The winners walked away with the accolades accompanied with one million shillings price money to each.

The league is in the recess expected to bounce back next month.

UPDF still tops the table with 12 points.
