Isingiro North County Member of Parliament and the current Minister for Animal Industry, Hon. Bright Rwamirama risks to lose his seat due to miss match of his names on academic documents and those of National Identification Card.

Rwamirama was accused by his competitor and Forum For Democratic Change flag bearer for the same seat, Atuhairwe Nicolas claiming that Minister who have been in Parliament since 2001 is not eligible to contest.

Nicolas to whom we found at Electoral Commission headquarters in Kampala on Monday, 04,2020 waiting for hearing of his case said that Rwamirama is a three in one person, whose names on academic documents of Ordinary Level, those of Advanced Level and those on National Identification Card don’t match and he (Atuhairwe) handed in his complaint EC.

We are here to challenge the nomination of Hon. Rwamirama Bright because the entire process of his nomination was full of irregularities due to the fact that the names on his O level certificate and of his A level certificate are totally different, so we are seeking the nullification of his nomination and participation in this ongoing election process.” Bwire Ronald, Nicolas Atuhairwe’s lawyer revealed.

Atuhairwe, saying that he is not fighting Rwamirama on personal level but for justice to all Ugandans.

This thing is not about me, it’s not about competition between me and Rwamirama, we need to go into a very good and straight process where we see one is nominated even if is so weak. We can’t see irregularities and we let them go because irregularities that affects one, it affects all.” Nicolas

Atuhairwe is saying the Bright Rwamirama who was nominated doesn’t have academic documents.

This young man believes that they are to get a fair hearing despite the postponement of the case to Thursday this same week.

Bright uses Bright Rwamirama Kanyontore on his National ID and those are the same names he used to be nominated but on his academic papers of S4 has Rwamirama Bright and S6 has Rwamirama K Bright and according to the law, these are three different people.

So the Rwamirama K Bright did not do S4 and Rwamirama Bright who did S4 doesn’t have S6 and then Rwamirama Bright Kanyotore who contested doesn’t have any academic papers.” Nicolas Atuhairwe explains.

Honorable Minister was expected also to attend the meeting but he did not show up on the day and Electoral Commission postponed the meeting to Thursday 7,01,2021.
