Pepsi University Football League: Bugema Poised to Assert Superiority as IUEA Faces Another Tough Test

The International University of East Africa (IUEA) is bracing for yet another difficult assignment in the Pepsi University Football League as they host an in-form Bugema University in Kansanga.
With two losses in their opening fixtures and no point registered so far this season, IUEA enters the clash under mounting pressure to revive their campaign.
Despite their troubled start, the Kansanga-based side reports a fully fit squad. According to assistant coach Rashid Kateregga, the return of previously unavailable players has strengthened their options for what he calls a must-win encounter.
“We have lost enough and tomorrow is the end of it. Our boys are well prepared and motivated for a comeback as it’s the only game to keep our hopes of qualifying for the next stage alive,” Katerega said.
Standing in their way is Bugema University, a team known for its organization, physicality, and tactical discipline. Bugema currently sits second on the log with four points, trailing leaders Muteesa I Royal University, who top the table with nine. Their strong start has reinforced the perception of Bugema as one of the most consistent and stubborn sides in the competition.
Head coach Meddy Nyanzi confirmed that his squad is in peak condition and ready to assert their authority.
“For us, we are ready for the game because we have no injuries and all players are available for selection,” Nyanzi said. He added that Bugema carries no card suspensions and emphasized that recent training sessions and friendly matches have sharpened the team’s fitness and momentum.
“We anticipate having a better game. The guys are very determined to win,” he concluded.
Tomorrow’s meeting marks the first encounter between the two sides, adding a layer of tactical intrigue as both coaches prepare contrasting game plans. For IUEA, it is a fight for survival. For Bugema, it is an opportunity to showcase their might and maintain pressure at the top of the table.
