Pepsi UFL: Westnile Bad Roads Cost Muni University Three Points against Makerere

Makerere University brightened her chances of making it to quarterfinals of the 11th edition of Pepsi University Football League after securing three important points off Muni University.
The Douglas Bamweyana coached side beat Muni 2-0 on Thursday at Makerere University Main Ground to stretch their lead on table to nine points in three games.
Wansagi Maurice and Ocen Ivan scored in both halves to maintained Makerere University perfect start of the season.
Wansagi was the first on score sheet after his beautiful tap in at the far post that sent MUK fans in celebrations in the 26th minute.
Ocen Ivan sealed the win for Makerere with a diving header that came in the 88th minute of the game, the win meant Makerere have secured nine points and is the only side that haven’t conceded any goal in the group.
Muni University have so far lost two games on road and have only secured one point in three games, putting them in a sorry state not to make it out of the group this season.
However, their tactician, Atiku Ronnie put blame on long journeys they travel and the bad roads they use to travel to Kampala.
“We lost this game not because we are bad, no, distance, traveling from Arua to Kampala is quite a long journey, and worst of it, the road is so so bad, by the time you reach Kampala, your muscles are already tired, so it’s became very hard to win a game on road and the other reason why you can’t win away from Kampala is the 12th Player, the crowd,this kind of crowd, my boys are not used to this crowd, they are new in the league, but I am very confident that I have maximum points on all our home fixtures because they will also get tired and we beat them.” Atiku Ronnie, Muni University head Coach.
Douglas Bamweyana is also not happy with the display of his boys though happy with the points.
“I am happy with the points and the win today but not the way we performed, I thought we were poor, we were poor in lots of moments even in defending, if opponents, probably took some of the half chances we more less gifted them they could have scored today, so we have to prepare the mindsets better, thought today their mindsets were not in right place, that’s not how we structure, we failed to convert so many chances today, so were not in the right place today but happy for the points.
We don’t have any objective apart getting the three points, so we started looking for three points from the next game.” Douglas Bamweyana.
The league will resume on Friday with Victoria University hosting MUBS at IUIU Kabojja Campus.
