Pepsi UFL Draws: ISBAT University Tutor, Scared Not of the Group – “We shall take the Bull by the Horns”

The draws for the 12th edition the Pepsi University Football League have been held on Thursday morning at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo. 

This edition has brought 23 Universities, and Muteesa I Royal University is the new entrant in this league. 

ISBAT University sports tutor, Fahad Musa revealed that he is very excited with the draws and he believes that his University will fully compete in their second season.

“The draws are actually done, I am excited for this new season, ISBAT having been a baby the previous season and I have seen there is a new baby coming in this year, I guess the welcome will be as warm as it was towards our side.” Fahad Musa, ISBAT University Tutor said before adding. “We’re really excited to play the next season and really prepared to put up a competition, some of my colleagues who have already received the information about the universities that we shall be competing against are already claiming it’s a group of death but to me, I see a walkover because in sports anything can happen, so we’re ready and fully loaded to kick start the season, we shall take the bull by the horn.” 

ISBAT never made out of the group last season and won no game in the group stages, this season they were pitted in group A with the defending champions, Nkumba University, Busitema University and Islamic University in Uganda. 

The 23 Universities were pitted in six groups of four teams and three respectively and the top team in every group shall qualify automatically then the best two teams from the second position shall join the six to make the eight at the quarter final.

This season shall kick off on Tuesday 17th September 2024 and last season’s losing finalist Uganda Christian University will host the opening fixture.

Uganda Martyrs University, Muni University, International University of East Africa, University of Kisubi 

Group F

Makerere University Business School, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Muteesa I Royal University.
