Bugema University 5-0 University of Kisubi 

Bugema University continued to send a strong message to the competitors in the 2023/24 Pepsi University Football League that they are a side to beat in this 11th edition after thumping the helpless University of Kisubi 5-0 on Sunday at Bugema.

The Medhi Nyanzi coached side registered their second consecutive game of the group, scoring 11 goals in total giving them a bright future ahead of making it out of the group as the best losers or the table leaders of group A.

Musuk Innocent Mark, Ssentongo Sulaiman, Ssebbaale Swalaf Din and Isaac Ssenyunja are the four who punished University of Kisubi, the side in the group yet to secure any point this season.

Only five minutes into the game, Musuk Innocent Mark had already handed the hosts a lead with a surprise tap in.

Ssentongo Sulaiman through the spot kick, he doubled the lead for Bugema, the same person was fouled in the area by Ssesaazi Musa and Ana Akoi, the centre referee had no excuse apart from awarding the penalty to Bugema which was converted in the 24th minute.

Nine minutes later, Ssebbaale Swalaf Din stretched the lead to three goals with a cute strike outside the box.

The game went in halftime break with Bugema in comfortable lead.

In the 65th minute, Isaac Ssenyunja with a half volley took Bugema to a four goal lead before he completed his brace of the day with a cool slot in, in the 87th minute.

The win moved Bugema to six points in three games and still second on the table, since Uganda Martyrs University is still on 100% record.

The Jessey Lukoki coached side still on search for their first point in the league this season, still on bottom with zero points.

The two sides will meet on Tuesday of next week at University of Kisubi for return leg.

The league will resume on Monday when Uganda Christian University will be hosting Kampala International University at Mukono.
