Pepsi UFL: Argument Settled, Kampala University is the Original, KIU given Suitable Position

The two time Pepsi University Football League champions, Kampala University continued to prove that it’s the only roaring lion on Ggaba road following a 1-0 victory over the arch rivals, Kampala International University.
The two Ggaba road based Universities met at Luzira Prison Grounds on Friday afternoon in the second fixture of group D.
Wanume Gilbert scored the only goal that settled the argument. His strike came very early in the first stanza of the match and in the 11th minute, the capital chartered University students who travelled with the team we jubilating.
Ssembatya Sharif well delivered corner kick from the right flank was perfectly headed into the net and made it count.
The first stanza wasn’t that impressing by both sides but after the break, they returned different teams, playing aggressive football, creating chances.
Kampala University after making some changes in the middle of the park, introducing Kimera Joseph and Muyingo Brian helped the hosts to dominate the game.
Kampala International University custodian, Amoni Eddy was the man of the match following the classic saves he made mostly in the second stanza.
The narrow victory took Kampala University level on three points with Gulu University at the top of Group D. Gulu defeated Bugema University by the same scoreline last week.
Saturday will entertain the International University of East Africa (IUEA) and the University of Kisubi (UNIK) in Group E in Kansanga at 3pm.
