NRM CEC Race: ‘I still Have Stamina’, Kadaga Disregards Withdrawal Rumours

The Vice Chairperson (Women) of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Rt.Honorable Rebecca Kadaga has trashed all rumors that have been circulating claiming that she has withdrawn from the race of Vice Chairperson (women) at the Central Executive Committee (CEC).
The former speaker is competing with the Speaker of the August House of Uganda Rt. Honorable Annet Anitah Among.
While addressing the media, Rt. Honorable Rebecca Kadaga the 3rd deputy prime minister and also the minister of East African Affairs put it clear that she can’t just leave the race like that because she holds the her head and can’t just give it away to people who do not have clear paths with the party.
” I have been in the party since 1988 and witnessed all it’s transitions, so I hold the party on my head and trust me I will be on the ballot come Wednesday 27th-08-2025 at Kololo” part of Kadaga’s speech.
The National Resistance Movement is in the final touches of preparations for the Executive General Meeting that is also dubbed as ” The Namboole Meeting” and it’s at this meeting that the party is going to elect new Executive members.
During the Press briefing, Kadaga cited a few of the achievements she has done for the party and these include laws that she passed including cutting taxes on menstrual pads and baby diapers to help women perform their duties well ant time. She also mentioned about the many schools across the Eastern region of Uganda where now almost every house can educate a child at least to Senior Four level.
It’s now clear that the race has gained momentum and heat as the NRM is expected to vote their new Executive on August 27th-28th and the most anticipated race is between Rebecca Kadaga and Annita Among at the post of Vice Chairperson (Women) of the National Resistance Movement.
