The long awaited Grand Finale of 2020 Masaza Cup edition meets it’s date today at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
The Final between the four-time winners,Gomba Lions and the 2016 champions, Buddu in less than eight hours they will be locking horns at St Mary’s Stadium before the presence of High Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II who is the chief Spectator of the closing ceremony.
This is a replay of 2016 final held at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, in that year, Boy’s from greater Masaka beat Kitunzi’s loyals, by 6-5 via penalty shootouts for the former to lift their maiden Masaza Cup title, five years down the road, the two meet again but on another ground/Stadium.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic that hit the country in March Last Year, the stadium will be largely empty, since no fans shall be allowed inside except the few invited guests, security and forth estate.
Gomba who wants to secure their fifth title, are under the stewardship of experienced tactician, Ibrahim Kirya, while Buddu is under the guidance of Micheal Skills Lukyamuzi
