Masaza Cup 2020:Athanas Mutaawe Own Goal Earns 10-Men Mawogola A Second Win
Athanas Mutaawe scored in his own net for the ten men Mawogola Saza to beat Butambala 1-0 in the first fixture of match day three played at Njeru Technical Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The balanced game between the two sides produced limited goal scoring chances and first stanza ended in a barren stalemate.
In the 64th minute of second half, Isaaya Sabiiti who had a good game compared to his counterparts on the pitch, from right flank laid a hard pass that got deflection from Butambala’s defender and captain, Athanas Mutaawe who connected into his own net.
Though they got a red card, in Nsubuga Hassan who was second booked by the centre referee,Richard Kimbowa in the 67th minute, the boys from Ssembabule remained firm to defend their three points.
Mawogola moved on top of the table now with three games played, they remain the side in Butikkiro group with clean sheets.
Buleemezi and Buluuli are to lock horns at 3pm today.
