Kayunga: Uganda Twitter Users’ ‘President’, Kanyomozi ‘Orders’ His Subordinates to Surprise ‘Omugenzi nga tanafa’ Celeb with a Motorcycle
The self proclaimed, Uganda Twitter Users’ President, Patrick Kanyomozi initiated the idea of surprising Godfrey Jjemba Matte who turned a social media celebrity for his picture trending allover internet for the past few weeks.
Jjemba, a resident of Mbulakati Kyerima, Bbaale Constituency in Kayunga District, his photos taken while reading funeral announcements, went viral on social media and many users on different platforms been using his picture as ‘meme’ but with comic information.
The photo tempted many and became curious to know who really Jjemba is; among those are the two leading television stations, NTV and NBS TV who yesterday ran Jjemba’s story and in the interview, the 68 year old Jjemba asked public to gift him motorcycle and smartphone that will ease his voluntary work to his fellow locals.
“...It’s not my paying job, I just offered myself to serve my fellows basing on the situation we are in now, many people fear to stand before the congregation and yet I can, so that’s how I started.
“Some times transport disturbs me, like you see, I am old man can’t reach at every burial site on time but I ask those who appreciate my work to buy me a motorcycle…..a smartphone, I also view what they write about me and even to defend myself when they write what I didn’t say.” Jjemba told NTV in an interview.
Uganda Sports Press Association who doubles as Twitter Users’President, Patrick District Kanyomozi initiated the idea to surprise the “Omugenzi nga tanafa’ celeb with the motorcycle, mobile public address system and smartphone to which his Subordinates bought with immediate effect.
“Mzee Godfrey Jjemba has lit up Twirra more than any one. As UOT we need to give him a token of appreciation. A motorbike, a mobile public address system, anything we can (but not energy drinks). Anyone in?

Kanyomozi displayed the contact where his ‘electorates’ should send the contribution, and that number is in name of Solomon Kaweesa.
