Kayunga: RDC Embarks On Reminding Schools Of COVID-19 SOPs

The Kayunga District Resident Commissioner, Mrs Mwanamoiza Kikomeko Margret embarked on reminding school going kids not to forget COVID-19 guidelines, because it’s still in existence.

In mid October 2020, 15th to be specific schools resumed their activities since their closure in March 18th 2020 due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic that put the whole world on standstill.

Schools returned with only candidate classes and finalists at Tue high level of learning, after three weeks in action, the Kayunga Resident District Commissioner, Mrs Mwanamoiza Margret Kikomeko embarked on visiting schools to witness whether they still follow the Ministry of Healthy guidelines concerning COVID-19.

When visited Kamusabi Church of Uganda Primary School in Kayonza Sub County, Bbaale Constituency, she urged pupils not to forget the guidelines and also to remind their parents about the pandemic.

“Good I found you when still following the guidelines well at school, but you should also be able to follow them at home, if they (parents) forget to put small Jerry cans with soap at the door way, you do it, don’t forget social distance at home because if someone is infected, all of you can get the virus, that’s why you have to take care of your families.” RDC talking to kids.

RDC also reminded pupil to have their own timetable of reading books, and encouraged them to put much emphasis on group discussions than too much reading.

“You mush have your own timetable apart from that of the teacher, don’t read so much because you can get exhausted and run mad, discuss with friends and share ideas and knowledge“

The turn of candidates is still low compared to those schools started with before COVID-19 outbreak, Kamusabi started with 22 pupils in Primary seven but only 15 managed to return back to School.
