Kayunga: History Written As Outgoing LV Chair Officially Handing over Power To New Government

The Kayunga District Local government witnessed the first and unique hand over ceremony since inception in 2000.

Yesterday Kayunga District received the 5th District Council headed by Hon.Ffeffekka Serubogo Muhammad (NUP).T

The swearing in Ceremony which was led by the AG.Chief Magistrate Kayunga Court, Tusiime Sarah Birungi started at 11:38am with the newly Elected District Chairperson Hon.Ffeffekka and he was followed by all the District Councilors and those for Special Interest groups.

Since Inception of the District in 2000 Kayunga had AG.District Chair Wasswa Abubaker,Eng.Dagada two terms,Eng.Mulondo,AG. Bandikubi Bonface,Eng Dagada all did not handover office.

But yesterday the history was written when the outgoing LC V Chairman Sserwanga Tom Williams of NRM handed over the office publically to his competitors and of National Unity Platform, Ffeffeka Sserubogo Muhammad.

This diplomat act amazed thousands who attended the Ceremony.

The out going Chairperson informed Ffeffekka that Politics is about logic and reason, it’s not emotional and argued him to handle the district with much care and also to add on the many developments accomplished by his 4th Council.

Sserwanga urged Ffeffeka to handle the civil servants with care and support in order to help him to achieve during his term of office and to always consult the CAO,leaders in Authority.

The Chair handed over the keys of the vehicle, him thanked the leaders,technical and the community for supporting him.

The CAO thanked the out going Chairman for having good working relations with the civil servant and she pledged to support the newly elected chairman.

The National Chairperson Women Council appreciated the services of the out going Chairman and urged the newly elected to be vigilant and to work with President Museveni.

Ffeffeka pledged to add on what Sserwanga has put in place and to continue uniting the people of Kayunga.

The Chief Guest and RDC Madoi Elijah thanked the Outing going Chairman for respecting the authorities.
