In the much-anticipated opener, Kampala City extended their fierce rivalry with Buganda Royal Beach Soccer Club, cruising to a convincing 7–2 victory. The champions displayed the same attacking flair and discipline that earned them last season’s crown, signaling their intent to defend the title once again.
The second fixture of the day saw MUBS produce a mesmerizing performance, defeating debutants Muteesa I University 7–3. The university side impressed with quick passing, tactical awareness, and a clinical edge in front of goal, leaving fans eager to see what’s next from the youthful squad.
The league brains described the opening day as a strategic step toward developing both players and referees for the future of the sport. “A few games at a time gives us the chance to refine competition quality and build stronger foundations for beach soccer in Uganda,” one official Ivan Kintu Bayige.

With the season just underway, Kampala City sit comfortably at the top of the table, closely followed by MUBS, as other teams prepare to make their first appearances in the coming fixtures.
The energy and excitement at Bamboo Gardens signaled not just the start of another season—but a promising new chapter for Ugandan beach soccer.
