ISF World Cup: Uganda Schools Shine in China on Day one

The first edition of the new version of the International Schools Federation football championship has officially kicked off on Saturday in Dalian China.
Uganda’s representatives in boys and girls football had a perfect start apart from the FUFA Tv Cup winner, St Mary’s College Kisubi.
Amus College and Bukedea Comprehensive School won their opening fixtures with Amus beating Chinese Taipei 7-2, Busuulwa Davis had the first hat trick for Uganda, Bakoole Osamah went for a brace with Wasangwa Shafik and Bashir Mansur appearing on the score sheet. Chinese Taipei got their two goals from En Chi Tsai and Yi Ting Tang.
St Mary’s College Kisubi is the only Uganda’s side that lost the game on the opening day, they lost 6-3 to New Zealand, Agasha Noel, Ashaba Alvin and Ampe Aaron scored for SMACK.
Bukedea Comprehensive School who went as the most improved school in Uganda, thumped Turkmenistan 6-0.
Sekajugo Elvis scored twice, Khar Abdul,
Ssekisambu Reagan, Aine Edwin and
Ssekibemgo Godfrey appeared on the score sheet.
Amus College School captain Toto Majub seems to know what it takes to land the golden prize having had a fairy tale of a championship in Morocco last year
“It is not the first time we are playing in this School’s world cup. We came (to Morocco) last year and it didn’t work out. We know we have to win our second game because from every group they take one team” he said.
In girls category, Amus College (Uganda) beat Nigeria 3-2.
Team Uganda enjoyed hitting the back of the net at the opposite end of the pitch having scored 18 goals in the the first 4 games.
