I want to Elevate to another level, Ssemujju Declares To Contest For Speakership

The Opposition Chief Whip in the 10th Parliament who doubles as the Kira Municipality seating and elected member of Parliament, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has today declared his interest to contest against Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga on speaker ship post.

Ssemujju revealed this news in a press briefing he held on Tuesday at Parliament in Kampala.

“Very soon, I am going to be a speaker of parliament of Ugandans.” The intelligent outspoken Legislator revealed.

Semujju seemed confident in his decision and not scared to out compete the incumbent Rebecca Kadaga, for he said that when voted, he will not only be a speaker for the opposition but also for all parliamentarians.

It should be noted that Ssemuju has served Kira municipality for three terms which makes him knowledgeable about affairs of Ugandan Politics.

”These three terms have enacted good tactics that will enable me make parliament great as a speaker” says Ssemuju.

Ssemujju also revealed that he has already written to all opposition party presidents that have representation in parliament to support his bid since they are mandated to offer better alternative as opposed to cheering the sitting National Resistance Movement (NRM) government.

Ssemujju who is also the Spokesperson of Forum for Democratic Change joined incumbent Hon. Rebecca Kadaga and the Current Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah to contest on the post of speakership of 11th Parliament.
