Hehe! You Sacked Me because of Maama Maria, Now It’s Your Turn, McKinstry Suspended As Kajoba bounces back on Cranes

Surprising news broke out on the evening of 25th December 2020, when the National football team the Cranes head Coach Jonathan McKinstry sacked goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba because of going for Christmas prayers without permission.

In communication McKinstry made to football governing body FUFA, he told them that Kajoba flouted Team camp rules and he was replaced with Sadiq Wassa as the team was heading to Cameroon for 2020 CHAN Championship.

At exactly Sixty days down the road, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), EXCOM held a meeting on Tuesday to suspend Jonathan McKinstry as Uganda Cranes head coach for a period of one month as they assess his issues.

The FUFA Executive Committee has asked the Head Coach of the National Senior side-The Uganda Cranes Mr. Johnathan McKinstry to step aside from managing and coaching the team for the period from 2nd- 31st March 2021.

Uganda performed poorly in CHAN and failed to qualify out of the group which made Ugandans unhappy and demanded FUFA to sack McKinstry.

In the same meeting according to Press Statement, posted on FUFA website, Fred Kajoba named among the interim coaching staff alongside Police FC tactician Abdallah Mubiru and Livingston Mbabazi.

“In the meantime Assistant Coaches Mr. Mubiru Abdallah, Mr. Mbabazi Livingstone and goalkeeping coach Mr. Kajoba Fred will take charge of the team during this period.
The rest of the Technical team remains unchanged.” the statement reads in part.

This means, the interim technical team will be in charge of Cranes two AFCON qualifying fixtures against Burkina Faso and Malawi slated for 24th and 29th March 2021.

Uganda is second in group B with seven points in four fixtures, one poin
