Rines SS WFC 2-1 She Maroons FC

Uganda Martyrs WFC 1-0 Wakiso Hill WFC

Kawempe Muslim LFC 3-0 Lady Doves FC

After failing on two consecutive attempts to secure maximum points their previous FUFA Women Super League encounters, Kawempe Muslim LFC finally returned to winning ways with a 3-0 convincing victory against Lady Doves FC.

Samalie Nakacwa, Mary Kabacurezi and Hadija Nandago were the names on the referee’s score sheet on the day at Kawempe Muslim SS playground (the Valley).

Like the did against Makerere University, the Valley Warriors started with a front foot to have the dominance of the game.

Rose Bamaniriza, the Lady Doves custodian handled the ball outside the box and Kawempe won a free kick to which Samalie Nakacwa converted at the back of the net in the 33rd minute to hand the hosts a lead.

Five minutes later, Mary Kabacurezi doubled the lead for the hosts with a loop over strike. Kabacurezi dodged Babra Aciro to create herself a space to loop the ball over the custodian who went in attack to stop the scorer.

The first stanza ended when Kawempe is in a two goal advantage.

In second stanza, Lady Doves continued to press for a consolation goal at least to get back into the game but were not sharp enough in the final third and had no serious and deadly attack that one may say, Kawempe Muslim narrowly survived.

The introduction of Joweria Nagadya and Margret Namande upfront and defense gave the visitors some balance on the pitch though the failed to find the back of the net.

In the added minutes, Rose Bamaniriza miscalculated the ball slotted in her box and failed to catch it that handed Hadija Nandago who was on the run to slot the ball at the back of the net to make it three for the hosts.

The win ended Kawempe’s two winless streak that came against Makerere University and Asubo Ladies FC.

The Ayub Khalifah coached side moved back on top of the table with 18 points in eight games.

The lost left Lady Doves on nine points, keeping the 6th position on the log of ten teams.

Kawempe is two points above Kampala Queens, whose game against Asubo Ladies FC postponed by the FUFA Competitions committee minus giving a valid reason to the public.

In other results, UCU Lady Cardinals had to wait until the 90th minute to win the game against Makerere University through Sarah Abonyo strike.

Rines SS came from a goal down to subject She Maroons to their second consecutive loss on the the road with a 2-1 score line.

Uganda Martyrs WFC joined the rest to pile more misery to Wakiso Hill, beating the Maya based side, 1-0, courtesy of Immaculate Nakanjako lone strike.

The league will return for last fixtures of first round on Saturday and Sunday at various grounds.
