FWSL: Naume Nagadya Rescues a Point for the Sharks as Home Misfortune Continues to Haunt Kampala Queens
One of the most talented and experienced midfielder in Uganda, Naume Nagadya rescued a point for She Corporate in late hours against Kampala Queens in a game played on Saturday at IUIU Kabojja Grounds.
The much anticipated encounter that closed the first round of FUFA Women’s Super League season for two sides has produced four goals equally shared by either sides.
Naume Nagadya cut short Kampala Queens’ happiness of winning their first home game with a spectacular strike, eight minutes to fulltime.
The home side Kampala Queens first got a lead, six minutes into the game, thanks to Resty Nanziri first goal of the season, she converted from a corner kic laid by Margret Kunihira who looked average on the day.
Double foot Phiona Nabbumba needed only four minutes to level the matters through a well taken free kick, 25 yards off the goal line.
However, 31 minutes into first stanza, Zaina Nandede reclaimed Hamza Lutalo’s coached side lead with a simple header.
First forward, Naume Nagadya scored his first goal of the season for she Corporate that came in the 82nd minute to level the scores again.
Apart from rescuing a point for Corporate, she helped the club end first round unbeaten with 21 points in nine games. The same goal added misery to Kampala Queens home winless run, they now moved to four games this season, lost one and drew three in a row.
The general game display by both sides was shared and the fans on ground surely enjoyed the game, it was an epic one of the season, the first to be televised live on UBC TV.
Naume who currently on form midfielder revealed the secret behind the amazing performance of She Corporate that beat all odds so far.
“Team work, determination, character and discipline is what driving us this season, we trust in whatever we do, and we are aiming at winning this title, we want to be champions.” Naume Nagadya said.
For starters, Naume Nagadya just returned to football after two years rest but she continued to prove that she has stamina even for a national team place again.
Meanwhile, Lutalo revealed that playing at Kabojja, it’s like playing another away game because they have limited time at the pitch.
“We only have last training here, we have limited time on it, it’s like we are also visitors here, it’s very expensive but our bosses need to work on that such that we have more training sessions here.” Hamza Lutalo.
She Corporate maintained it’s top spot now with 21 points while Kampala Queens moved to 16 points and remained in their second position.
