Uganda Martyrs High School WFC maintained their third position on the log with a 2-0 win against Makerere University WFC in the game honored on Saturday morning at St Gerald’s playground.
Kevin Nakacwa and Brenda Muyana were the heroics of the day, with Muyana opening the scoring just in the fourth minute of the game to put her team into the lead, before Kevin Nakacwa doubled the lead via a long range shot in the 15th minute of the game to send the home fans into wild celebrations.
Latifa had scored the third goal for Uganda Martyrs but it was cancelled due to an offside.
After dropping points against Kampala Queens, the Lubaga-based side in Uganda Martyrs badly needed the maximum points to continue pressurizing the former, who also won their game against Uganda Christian University Lady Cardinals by a 1-0 scoreline.
The side certainly never disappointed as per the expectations of the massive number of supporters that came to offer support to them.
Despite the defeat, Makerere never moved a place from the previous seventh position where they have five points in now five played games of the FUFA women’s super league.
In other Saturday results, Asubo-Gafford Ladies suffered their fourth defeat of the season after losing 3-0 against Lady Doves FC, the game was honored at Katushabe Stadium in Masindi while Kampala Queens continued to maintain its 100% record of winning following a 1-0 victory against UCU Lady Cardinals.
