After eliminating Gyco Girls FC in FUFA Women’s Cup and Qualified to quarter finals, Asubo-Gafford Ladies FC will turn their focus to FUFA Women’s Super League on Sunday as they host Lady Doves FC in an anticipated encounter.
The relegation battlers, Asubo will be in action at Kampala Quality Ground at 10am battling relegation threatened Lady Doves.
Having won their last three consecutive league matches, against Uganda Martyrs ,UCU Lady Cardinals and Olila in Soroti, the Kawempe based side will be hoping to build on the positive advantage to continue and search for Maximum points against Masindi based side to move to 16points and get out of red zone for the first time this season.
“This is the game we need to win, it means a lot to us because if we win it, we shall be getting out of relegation positions so we are taking it very serious.” Says Madinah Nakaayi, Asubo’s forward.
They come into this game ,knowing a win against Lady Doves will get them off the relegation and pray for the SHE MAK to lose their game against Uganda Martyrs.
The side will hope to bank on the good services of Kamiyat Naigaga, Namaganda Zaitun and their goalkeeper Olga who have been at far front for the team.
On the other hand,lady doves seems to be giving up at the last hours as the league approaches an end.
The 2020/2021 league champions have picked only one point from their last four league matches ,they lost against Olila High School, Kawempe Muslims, Makerere University and drew with Rines SS in their last league game at home.
A loss for the side will drop them to relegation zone which makes the Sunday game very important to both sides.
Else where , table leaders Kampala Queens will be searching for only a Point to officially be crowned the 2022/ 2023 champions ,the side will be hosting UCU Lady Cardinals at IUIU grounds in Kabojja.
At Mubs Grounds Nakawa, struggling She Corporate will be aiming to revenge against a side ,Olila,that eliminated them from FUFA women cup last weekend at the same ground.
However the Sharks will have to fight hard and pick up maximum points such that they boast their chances of surviving relegation . The side stand in the 8th position with four points above the last placed team .
In Makerere grounds ,last placed She MAK will host Uganda Martyrs at Makerere University playground.
At Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso,Namusera based side ,Rines will hope to continue with their brilliant form as they welcome on form Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
