Futsal: FAU Confirms Three Competitions to Be Honored in New Normal
The Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) has confirmed that three competitions will be held in the 2020/21 calendar year.
These competitions are; Futsal Super League, Futsal Uganda Cup and Futsal Super Cup.
According to FAU Chief Executive Officer, Mugerwa Ibrahim, the action will kick off on Saturday 1st May 2021. All games will be held on one ground that’s Old Kampala Sports Arena.
“The 2020-21 Futsal season will kick off Saturday, 1st May 2021 with all safety requirements in place. The games in Futsal Super League, Futsal Uganda Cup and Futsal Super Cup shall be played at the Old Kampala Sports Arena. Due to COVID-19, only a limited number of fans will attend with live streaming for all matches.” FAU CEO, Mugerwa Ibrahim said in a press statement released on 20th April 2021.

In the zoom meeting held few weeks back, the Association and Club officials decided to have eight teams in the league and will be divided into two groups, that is Group A and group B.
Teams will meet twice in the group, home and away and the best two in each group will make it out of the group and play a one legged semifinal knockout. That is Futsal Super League.
For the case of Futsal Uganda Cup, the only eight teams in League will feature and will play via a knockout format, starting from quarter final level.
The winner of Uganda Cup and winner of Super League will play each other in the Futsal Super Cup.
The eight clubs include; Aidenal SOSA, Synergy, Kisenyi, Kampala Junior Team (KJT), Mengo, Park, Big Talent and Yeak Kabowa Futsal clubs.
Group A.
Mengo, Aidenal SOSA, Big Talent and Kampala Junior Team.
Group B:
Park, Kisenyi, Yeak Kabowa and Synergy.
