FUFA Women’s Super League: Amazing Stats After Three Days of Action
The resting day in the ongoing FUFA Women’s Super League tourney at Njeru came on Thursday after three days of nonstop action.
For starters, Group A comprising of five teams; Kampala Queens, Tooro Queens, Kawempe Muslim, Makerere University and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC entered Njeru Technical Center on Sunday (Reporting day) and action began on Monday and on the day we witnessed two epic encounters at the turf.
Since this website is exclusively on ground, it has decided to flash lights into the amazing facts and statistics captured in six games played so far.
The table statistics shows that Kawempe Muslim Ladies, Women football power house in Uganda lead the group with six points out of possible nine in three games.
Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC occupies the second place, also with six points in three games.
Tooro Queens, and Kampala Queens ties at three points and each played two games while Makerere University WFC lead from the bottom of the table with zero points and negative two goals.
Out of the six played games, ten goals have been scored but the Valley Warriors have six out of the total. Which make it the team that scored most goals in the tourney so far and conceded only once, the one Against Uganda Martyrs.
The remaining four goals are shared by three teams, Uganda Martyrs two, the football Queens and Country Queens, each scored once.
Of the honored six fixtures, no fixture saw both teams scoring, we haven’t seen any equalizer or a consolation, maybe those terms will come in the remaining four fixtures.
Six goals of the ten scored came in the second half and five of the six in the last 20 minutes.
Kampala Queens and Tooro Queens are the sides to concede more than a goal, four goals and two respectively, their sole tormentor is Kawempe Muslim.
So far Sharon Nadunga of Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC has scored the fastest goal as a substitute, she scored against Tooro Queens, it came after spending only a minute on pitch, she replaced Allen Nasaazi in 91+ minute and scored in the 92nd minute.
However, Margret Kunihira scored the fastest goal not as a substitute, hers came in the 5th minute against Kampala Queens.
The first goal of the tournament was scored by Kevin Nakacwa of Uganda Martyrs, it was a penalty scored in the 72nd minute against Makerere University WFC.
Allen Nasaazi is the current top scorer, she has two goals on her name, the 15 year old promising forward, scored against Kampala Queens and Tooro Queens.
Seven yellow cards so far awarded and four of them went to Uganda Martyrs. Anitah Namata of the same club received the first yellow card. Martyrs was playing against Makerere University.
One red card, it was received by Tooro Queens’ midfielder, Resty Kobusobozi.
Many free kicks awarded but only one was converted, Gloria Namugerwa is the lucky one, she scored hers against Kawempe Muslim Ladies.
Two penalties awards, only one was converted, Margret Kunihira failed and Kevin Nakacwa scored.
It’s only Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga that have played 270+ consecutive minutes without resting and none secured maximum points out of the three games.
The action resumes tomorrow Friday with two fixtures.
