Fresh Dairy Games: Kibuli Shines Brighter as 2024 Edition Climaxes Without Football Champion

The 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Fresh Diary championship climaxed without girls football champions but that didn’t stop Kibuli SS from shining.
Having Started on Saturday 27 April at Ndejje Secondary School in Luweero district, the 2024 championship climaxed on Saturday.
The championship had seven disciplines: Girls football, Rugby [girls and boys], Basketball [girls and boys], Badminton [girls and boys], Lown Tennis [girls and boys], Table Tennis [girls and boys], Hockey [girls and boys] saw Kibuli SS winning the most gold medals.
Kibuli SS came in as a giant mostly in Racket games and left the championship proudly with five trophies all from racket games.
The team which bagged the Lawn Tennis and Table Tennis both gender trophies it added on the boys Badminton trophy as their player Adrian Ziwa posting the most valuable player of the Lawn Tennis boys championship.
To continue shining Kibuli SS topped on other individuals accolades as Arafat Kibirige named the best Badminton male player.
It was almost all for Kibuli in Racket games only Mbogo High which stopped them from winning the girls badminton trophy, the MVP came from Rubaga Girls in name of Kate Ndagire helping her team to walk away with a silver Medal.
It was a fair walk for Kampala Zone Schools as Kakungulu Memorial finishing second on trophy log after lifting Hockey boys and girls trophy to finish with two.
Erias Okello and Janet Nakato both from Kakungulu Memorial were the best Hockey players at the championship
In the most tensed contest was St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende who stood taller beating their Entebbe road rivals St Noa girls Zana in Basketball girls.
Nabisunsa Girls from Kampala were the only school not from Wakiso that bagged a bronze medal in Basketball Girls after beating Buddo SS in the 3rd place classification match.
In Boys Basketball, it was a shock, getting a surprise champion in Hope SS Bbira who beat defending champions, Buddo SS 34-29 in a highly contested final.
Buddo SS has been the roaring lion in basketball boys until they found a challenger in Hope SS, the former left Ndejje with nothing.
Emmanuel Omara from Hope SS named the MVP.
Final following the lift of the girls football championship it was Rugby which gained to play the closing match of the 2024 games.
There it was traditional School winning traditional sports discipline as Kings College Buddo beating St Mary’s College Kisubi in final 15-12 while Mathew Musasizi getting named the best male player.
In girls, Air Force Entebbe won by beating Nkoma SS while Nabumali was the third as Mary Makonge from Nkoma SS was the best female players.
Girls Football didn’t not have a champion since their tournament was forcefully stopped at quarterfinal when FUFA threatened to punish schools that had refused to release summoned players to under 17 team that is preparing for World Cup Qualifiers.
