Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards: Namulumba is not Tall for Nothing, Sees Another Accolade This Year Ahead of Baagala, Nassanga
The Uganda Prisons Netball Club and She Cranes sharp shooter, Christine Namulumba Kango returned to Fortebet Real Stars podium for the second time this year.
The lanky shooter appeared on the podium for this second time in space of five months and the first one came in the month of December.
Namulumba has been exceptional for her side and the just concluded 2022/23 Netball Super League season especially in the month of April. Her team, Prisons netball club went unbeaten in six consecutive games and her alone, she has scored 181 goals in the last four games played in the month of April, among the games she has shined include that of NIC, KCCA, UCU and Busia greater lions.
Namulumba finished as the league top scorer with 791 goals, to win her second accolade, the soft-spoken, shooter beat National Insurance Corporation Netball Club mid fielder Margret Baagala and KCCA’s shooter Shadia Nassanga.
“It means a lot to me, it has really make me happy, last time I made promise to people and myself that I am going to come back here and I made it, this is my second time, many have never reached here, and when you check on Real Stars, you will find me there twice, so it promotes me as well.” Christine Namulumba Kango said after receiving her accolade on Tuesday morning at Lazio Restaurant and Bar – Lugogo.
“I thank my teammates, the coaches and the prison boss. I didn’t make it a lot, the team helped me reach here and the boss always gives us support, so it has been a collective effort.” She added.
The Real Stars Sports Agency CEO, Isaac Mukasa revealed that it was a hard task for the panel to choose the best among the three because also the rest had brilliant display in the month of April.
This month, the agency has recognized six categories which includes; Netball, Basketball, Football, Cricket, Rugby and Golf.
