Finance Trust Women Super League: Kamiyat Naigaga, the Star Attraction in a Goal-Filled Match Day Three Weekend

The Finance Trust Bank Women’s Super League Match Day 3 delivered another thrilling weekend of action across various grounds on October 18th and 19th — and if there was one name that echoed loudest, it was Kamiyat Naigaga.
The Kampala Queens forward continued her red-hot form, netting twice and bagging the Woman of the Match award in her side’s emphatic 5-2 win over Rines at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
Naigaga’s brace, coupled with Zaitun Namaganda’s double and a goal from Catherine Nagadya, powered the defending champions to their second straight win. Rines’ consolation goals came from Nagayi Eva and Nakato Patricia.
Naigaga’s performance not only secured her the day’s spotlight but also cemented her status as the league’s top scorer with four goals, having already scored against Kawempe Muslims, Makerere University Ladies, and now Rines.
Elsewhere, Gillian Akandida continued her fine run for She Cooperates, picking up her second consecutive Woman of the Match award in a 2-0 win over Asubo Ladies. Nakato Rebecca and Nakate Cissy provided the goals, but Akandida’s midfield dominance once again made the difference. Her consistency, following a stellar display in the draw against She Maroons, has quickly made her one of the season’s standout performers.
In Masindi, Brenda Munyana was the heroine for Uganda Martyrs winning the Woman of the Match as her side held Lady Doves to a 2-2 draw. Goals for Uganda Martyrs came from Hilda Nakirija and Kigongo Auki . The hosts found the net through Resty Kobushobozi and Everline Nandera, ensuring an even contest until the final whistle.
At Kawempe Muslims Grounds, goalkeeper Saidat Namwanje was a wall between the posts, pulling off several crucial saves as Kawempe Muslims edged St. Noa Girls 2-1. Goals from Jovia Nakagolo and Latifa Nakasi sealed Kawempe’s second consecutive win, with Giovanna netting for St. Noa.
In Bukedea, AMUS finally found their rhythm, cruising to a 3-1 win over She Maroons. Esther Namata starred with a brace while Ruth Nyakato added another to seal the hosts’ first victory of the season. And the consolation for She Maroons was scored by Lillian Kasuubo who took her tally to two goals this season.
And in Makerere, former Kawempe star Halima Kampi earned Woman of the Match honors when substitute Noeline Namiiro’s 89th minute free kick that helped She Mak to register a 1-0 win over Olila High School in a tense encounter.
Match day three alone has produced 21 goals in six matches.
