FEASSA Games 2024 Opener: Bukedea Comprehensive Bazukkulu ‘Impregnate’ Mkapa Twice Before Jjaja’s Sight

The main hosts of the 2024 Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association championship, Bukedea Comprehensive School had a perfect start in football boys, following the 2-0 victory against Benjamin Mkapa from Tanzania.
Reagan Ssekisambu and Ssebumpenje Yusuf were on target for the hosts to secure three maximum points and also to top group A.
Bukedea looked good in the first stanza of the match hosted at the Bukedea Comprehensive Stadium that was officially opened on Sunday by the Country’s head, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
For starters, before the match, President Museveni first officially opened the 21st edition of FEASSA games as well as commissioning the approximately 10,000 seater stadium which was constructed by the Speaker of Parliament and proprietor of Bukedea Comprehensive School, Rt. Hon. Annet Anitah Among.
“The East African integration is more than just sports, it’s fundamentally about securing our livelihoods. I thank Hon. Anita Among for facilitating the construction of this stadium. I encourage other officials to do take this as an example. I officially declare the FEASSA Games 2024 open.” H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Back on pitch, Reagan Ssekisambu handed Bukedea a lead as early as seven minutes before Ssebumpenje Yusuf doubled the lead in the last six minutes of the encounter.
Bukedea looked good in ball display though were too wasteful in the final third.
The hosts shall return to action on Tuesday at 3pm while facing the defending champions, St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School while their counterparts, Benjamin Mkapa will lock horns with St Joseph’s Kitale from Kenya.
Tomorrow (Monday) is full of action from all the disciplines.
In boy’s football, there will be three fixtures on menu, defending champions, St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School will switch on their title defense at 11am hosting stubborn Highway SS while the tournament co-hosts as well as the last year’s losing finalists, Amus College School will play against Musingu High School at 3Pm.
Ape-Rugunga from Rwanda will face off Kalangalala from Tanzania.
In Girls Football, there shall be four fixtures, Nyakach Girls High School and St Joseph’s Kitale will meet at 9am in the Kenyan affair. At the same time, St Noa Girls Zzana will play Tanzanite SS from Tanzania.
Butere Girls High School will face off Amus College School as Alliance SS takes on GS Remera Rukoma from Rwanda and both games are scheduled at 1PM.
