Buganda Regional League Playoff: Kakooza Strikes, Young Simba Cries, Kiyinda Boys Celebrate

Godfrey Kakooza scored the only goal that gave  the Katonga group leaders, Kiyinda Boys the champions song on the day.

The Mityana based side on final held at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Sunday, 04th, June 2023 beat Young Simba FC 1-0 and the only goal that gave the Simon Ddungu charges was converted by Godfrey Kakooza in the 58th minute of the game.

With that win, Kiyinda Boys are the champions of Buganda Regional League 2022/23 season and they will be meeting Kampala Region champions fighting for a big league slot next season.

The Kampala Region champions Black Stars who defeated Catida on penalties 5-4 following a one all in Kampala regional playoff final held at Omondi Stadium Lugogo on Saturday, will face off with Kinyinda Boys on 18th June 2023 at a Venue yet to be confirmed.

The Buganda Regional league top scorer finished the season with 20 goals and that is Samuel Ssemugugu of Simba FC and Julius Ssenyonga of Kiyinda Boys was named the best goalkeeper of the season.
