Bizonto Comedy Group Arrested Again, To be Presented Before Court Today

The four comedians in a called Bizonto Official have again been arrested by police over sectarianism claims.

The four were arrested on Friday morning from their working place, that is Radio Simba in Bukoto- Kampala and are to be presented to Buganda Road Court on Friday at 11am. 

“The Bizonto comedians are on their way to Buganda Road court on allegations of promoting sectarianism.” Says Charles Twine the CID spokes person.

The Police has it that their charges borrow origin from last year’s arrest in July 2020 where they were detained for releasing a skit in which they mentioned various heads of government institutions like the president, Electoral Commission, Uganda Revenue Authority, NSSF as being from the western part of Uganda an issue that can promote tribalism and hatred amongst different tribes.

Thus the police has held them on charges related to the previous ones of sharing a video which can cause hatred, dividing Uganda on tribal basis.
