Bika Football Tournament: Mmamba Namataka Sinks Nkerebwe in Mud as Nvubu fails to Swallow Nsuma

The 2024 Bika football tournament commenced with seven matches at the round of 64 at two grounds on Friday. 

Mmamba Namataka found no any hurdle to sunk Nkerebwe in the mud following a 5-1 fulltime score line at Lukuli playground. 

John Wesley Kisakye, Eric Mutebi, Mubarak Nsubuga, Peter Kaye and Reagan Ssekatawa scored each for the Bika Byabaganda Football record champions in the 5-1 victory against Nkerebwe and the latter’s only consolation came from Amir Musoke.

Nvubu and Nsuma shared points in the opening fixture at Kawanda SS, Hamidu Ssekirya scored in his own net in a one all draw between Nvubu and Nsuma, Nvubu’s goal was scored by James Sserumaga.

Ndiga struggled to register a 1-0 victory against Nkusu in a game played at Kawanda SS grounds, Patrick Kagulire scored the sole goal in the game. 

Ten man Kasimba scored three past struggling Kayozi to register a 3-0 convincing victory in the first leg.

Erias Kiyemba, Mubaraka Mitala and Abdulmalik Mbaziira were on target for Kasimba

Brian Walukagga was sent off in the second half for unsporting behaviour.

Mpeewo and Ngabi Nyunga played to a barren stalemate at Kawanda.

Kibe’s Martin Ssemubya became the first player to score a brace in the 50th edition of the Bika Byabaganda Football tournament.

Ssembuya scored the two goals in Kibe’s 2-0 victory against Njaza.

Brian Mayanja and Bosco Mutebi were the goal scorers in Mmamba Kakoboza’s 2-0 against Ngaali.

The return leg of the round of 64 will be played on Sunday 5th-May, aggregate winners will progress to the round of 32.
