Big League: Police Out to Test the Strength of Jinja North

Jinja North United FC hosts Police FC on Saturday evening in the second game of 2023/24 Big League at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe.

The two teams are eyeing topflight football next season after making big and many transfers to strengthen their squads.

In the opening game, Police FC fought hard to beat new entrants Young Elephants 2-1 thanks to Denis Kalanzi and new signing Obedi Brian James’ goals.

Jinja North United FC shared spoils with Booma FC in 1-all draw in their opening fixture, and they’re hoping to register their first league win this evening at home.

Police FC head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa is sure that if his men stick on the game plan, they will win the game.

“Its a tricky game, Jinja is a very good team and they’re at home. I believe if my players stick on the game plan and avoid to do mistakes, we will win the game.” Brave Mugerwa said.

Jinja North United head coach Sadik Ssempigi knows how hard it is to beat Police but he’s targeting early maximum points if they’re to gain super league promotion.

“Police FC is one of the most organized sides in the league they have been so busy in the previous transfer window but since we are home our fans support will boost us a lot.”

“This League requires to collect the points as early as possible if you are to hit your target.”

Last season, Police FC beat Jinja North United FC 1-0 in Jinja thanks to Adam Mutesasira’s lone strike and in Kavumba, they shared spoils in 1-1 draw, meaning Police FC have upper hand in today’s game.
