betPawa Futsal Super League: Park on Cloud 9, Defending Champions fall again as Mengo Secures Maiden Win

The former champions, Park FC continues to prove their worth for another title this season following the undisputed performance they display every match day. 

In their fourth match of the season played on Friday night at Old Kampala Sports Arena, they found no much anticipated hurdle to humble the defending champions and title contenders, Lubaga Grameen 4-2 to go four wins straight. 

The match day two of the week four of 2023/24 season had three fixtures where Mengo City recorded their first win of the season with Nansana Aska beating Kisugu FC in the closing fixture of the day.

The first half concluded with a 1-all draw between Park and Lubaga Grameen, as Gibran Nduhukire’s early strike for Park was matched by Lubaga’s Herbert Kalema. However, the second half saw Derrick Walugembe score twice, and Abasi Muluya finding the net once, solidifying Park’s fourth consecutive win.

With this triumph, Park now shares the league summit with Kisenyi and FC Luzira, all boasting a perfect 12-point record.

Prior to Park’s success, Mengo City impressed in their encounter against Edgars Youth Programme. Farouk Tumwesigye, making his first start of the season, shone by scoring five goals, contributing to Mengo’s convincing 9-2 victory which propelled them to enjoy their first ever betPawa locker room bonus. Male Antony (3) and Hersi Mohammed added to the score, while Brian Olwa and Amiri Wasswa netted consolations for Edgars.

In another riveting match, Nansana ASKA held on to defeat Kisugu FC 4-3, despite leading 3-0 at halftime. Carlos Kaddu’s brace and Ali Miti’s opener set the tone, with Ali Mukiibi (2) and Hashim Ali (1) responding for Kisugu. Hussein Dahir secured ASKA’s crucial goal, securing their third victory of the season.

Matchday five is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, 21st December, concluding on Friday, 22nd December 2023.
