Attorney General Clears UNF Current Executive, Board of Trustees, They are Lawfully Posses Those Offices

In their pursuit to see Hon Babirye Kityo and her new executive out of the office of the Uganda Netball Federation, the National Council of Sports and State Minister for Sports in one of the recommendations made when met Senior minister for Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni was her to dissolve the current executive.

Even while in the Adhoc committee of Parliament that was question the operations of National Council of Sports, the Institution’s general secretary Dr Patrick Bernard Ogwel revealed that Babirye Kityo Sarah unlawfully suspended her fellow executive members and appointed new ones which was against the Federations constitution.

In their other submissions, when they (National Council of Sports) held a press conference in clearing the air about the wrangles between NCS and UNF, Ogwel asserted that the Federation held their Annual General Assembly on 25th February 2022 when there was a court order stopping all the Federation activities.

They also questioned eligibility of the new Board of Trustees and the accountability issues.

When the queries reached in the First Lady’s office, she asked for legal advice from the Attorney General of the Government, Hon. Kiryowa Kiwanuka.

The document dated 6th April 2023, this website have a copy, Attorney General advised First Lady that all the allegations are null and void, so the current UNF executive is free to operate in Uganda because it is Lawfully exist.
