The boss of Alleluia Reflexology Health Solution and Nutritional Centre, dealers in herbal products and Medicine, acquired a certificate in Complementary and Alternative medicine at Avance International University- Nabweru Wakiso.
The University that came into existence on 2017, held its maiden graduation ceremony and among the graduates is Proficient Goodrich Muteguya one of the proprietors of Alleluia herbal medicine company.
The excited graduate talked to this website immediately after receiving his certificate and he revealed why he decided to get back to school to study what he is already practicing.
“For starters, I studied these things from abroad, but what has been disturbing me is that people have been not recognizing my papers. So when I discovered that there is an institution that teaches that course, I shared time and joined it.” Goodrich Muteguya told this website.
“I got a certificate in complementary and alternative Medicine, and I am happy that I studied with many people whom I believe they will help to expose to public about the importance of herbal medicine to our country, before we were few.“
Gradually Ugandans have started embracing herbal medicine and it explains why currently their are many herbal drinks and products on market.
Avance International University have graduated students from at least four faculties.
As we liberate ourselves from the colonial/ imperial philosophy, efforts must be made to be more African than earlier. Most medicine is extracted from the local herbs which are in plenty here. We must wake up and love our medicines the way Mr. Muteguya does it. Many aged Africans know many herbs that cure even more complicated diseases than the diluted Bazungu’s. I am 66 years of age but I know herbs that can cure various diseases majoring in Malaria, wounds, paining teeth, stomach troubles, cough, flu, skin diseases, and many more but Christians will call you a witch doctor; really? Lets join and fight the colonial disease of condemning our herbs for financial gains. Mr. Muteguya is an eye opener. we go his way. Bravo owa Isingiro.
