Women Football: Uganda Women’s Under Teams Are No Longer Nameless, FUFA Baptizes Them
The Uganda Women’s National football teams have been nameless since they came into existence but the 26th FUFA EXCOM meeting held on Saturday last week at the FA headquarters in Mengo has approved the nicknames of the U20 and U17 plus their theme.
Previously, it was only the Women’s A team that had a nickname in Crested Cranes to which the meeting maintained.
Now the Under twenty national team for women got a name in Queen Cranes with a theme; Beautiful and Gifted while the Under seventeen nicknamed, Teen Cranes with the Girl Child as their theme
The nick-names of the various national teams were reconfirmed as follows:

In the same meeting, the federation revealed that the 2022 CECAFA Women’s Senior Championship will be hosted by Uganda and it’s slated to be held between May 22nd and 05th June 2022 and the third FUFA vice president, Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi will chair the Local Organizing Committee.
