USSSA Post Primary Qualifiers: St Ponsiano Ngondwe, Other Three To Represent Kayunga at Greater Mukono Region

After an exciting and do or die encounters honored at Bishop Brown playground Kayunga on Tuesday 29th, March 2022, the four teams to represent Kayunga District in the Greater Mukono Region in the ongoing Post Primaries Football Competition have been identified.

The four teams are St Pontiano Ngondwe Secondary School, Namagabi Secondary School, Kayunga Light College and St Mathias Kalemba Secondary School Nazigo.

The six Schools that qualified were seeded in Two (2) groups of Three (3) teams each where the four best sides progress to regional level.

St Pontiano Ngondwe Secondary School Kangulumira topped group A with Four (4) points followed by Namagabi Secondary School who garnered Tow (2) points and then Ndeeba Secondary School came Third (3rd) with one point.

Ngondwe shared spoils with Namagabi SS in a barren draw (0-0) in a contest which excited spectators after Players from both sides showing skills and technique of the game at Bishop Brown Playground where the all group B games were played.

In the next Underdogs, Ndeeba SS put up a spirited fight against Ngondwe but they lost it by 1-0 courtesy of Ibrahim Ssebagala who headed a well taken corner kick by Vicent Mulema.

In the final group game played while it was raining ended in a barren draw between Namagabi Secondary School and Neighbors, Ndeeba Secondary School.

In other group games played at Namagabi Secondary School, Kayunga Light College defeated St Mathias Kalemba SS in the opening fixture by 1-0 scored Waiswa Mubarak.

In the next game between St Kalemba SS and Bugerere High School, ended in a one all draw. Erias Kayima sent St Kalemba into lead in the first half but the excitement was cooled down by a penalty awarded to Bugerere High School in the last minutes of the game. 

In the final group game, Kayunga Light College through Waiswa Mubaraka earned their second victory after they had defeated Bugerere High School.

In the course Kayunga Light College topped the group with Six (6) points, St Kalemba and Bugerere High School were tied on goals and points but only St Kalemba finished in Second position because Bugerere High School had accumulated more Yellow cards.

The semi/finals will be played on Thursday 31st March 2022 on a playground yet to be communicated. In the semi finals, St Pontiano Ngondwe will battle St Kalemba while Kayunga Light College will face off with Namagabi SS.

Kayunga District will host this years Greater Mukono Regional Qualifiers where each District will be represented by Four Schools.

Greater Mukono will have Three (3) representative in the National Post Primaries which will be hosted in Arua.
