Akon In Uganda

Kampala: The renown American- Senegalese rapper, music producer and an Entrepreneur Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam commonly known as Akon has today arrived in Uganda for business visit and to meet President Museveni.
At his arrival, the Lonely and freedom hit maker, Akon first visited the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Headquarters at Old Kampala Mosque in the capital of the Pearl of Africa.
Akon has been received by the senior presidential advisor on Diaspora Affairs, musician and Tourism Ambassador Eddie Kenzo, different officials from the ministry of Foreign affairs, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and sheikh Ramadan Mulindwa of the Uganda Muslim Supreme council.
During the course of his visit, Akon is expected to meet president Museveni to discuss different investment opportunities in various sectors of energy, Tourism, infrastructure development.
It should be remembered that this year in January his wife Rosina Negusir visited Uganda and had the opportunity to meet president Museveni where they discussed numerous issues on investment ventures that can be undertaken.

Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, born April 16, 1973), also known mononymously as Akon, is a Senegalese-American singer, rapper, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and actor from New Jersey. He rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of “Locked Up“, the first single from his debut album Trouble (2004), followed by the second single “Lonely.”
He is the first solo artist to hold both the number one and two spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 charts twice.[3] Akon has had four songs certified as 3× platinum, three songs certified as 2× platinum, more than ten songs certified as 1× platinum and more than ten songs certified as gold in digital sales.
