WINSA Primary School have continued their impressive start at the ongoing Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, securing a second consecutive victory in the primary schools netball competition.
The Ugandan representatives produced another dominant display, defeating Tanzania’s Muhonze 49–32 to maintain their unbeaten start to the tournament.
WINSA took early control of the contest, leading 13–6 at the end of the first quarter before extending their advantage to 26–12 by half-time.
The Ugandan side continued to dictate proceedings after the break, taking the third quarter 37–22 before completing the victory with a 49–32 final score.
The result leaves WINSA firmly in contention for another FEASSA netball title after beginning their campaign with two wins from two matches.
The primary schools netball competition is being played in a round-robin format, with Kanjuki Junior School currently leading the standings on five points from four matches. Kanjuki have registered two wins, a draw and a loss.
WINSA, despite having played only two matches, are just one point behind the leaders and have put themselves in a strong position to challenge for top honours.
The Ugandan champions will return to action at 4:00pm when they face Kenya’s Masebula in their third match.
The encounter is a crucial one for WINSA, who need another victory to maintain their momentum and strengthen their chances of successfully defending the trophy they won at the previous edition.
With two wins already secured, WINSA will be hoping to keep their perfect record intact as they continue their pursuit of back-to-back FEASSA glory.
