WINSA Primary School have moved closer to defending their Primary School Netball title after securing two crucial victories on Wednesday at the ongoing FEASSA Games in Morogoro, Tanzania.

The Ugandan representatives produced a dominant display in both matches, first overcoming Kanjuki 52–31 before completing their busy day with an emphatic 59–29 victory over Tanzania’s Lamadi.

Against Kanjuki, WINSA took control early, leading 15–6 in the first quarter before extending their advantage to 28–13 at half-time. They continued their dominance in the third quarter, leading 40–23, and eventually wrapped up the match 52–31.

WINSA were even more convincing in their final fixture of the day against Lamadi, racing to a 13–5 lead after the opening quarter. They stretched the advantage to 29–14 by half-time and maintained their grip on the game to lead 42–24 after three quarters before finishing 59–29.

The two victories have taken the defending champions to the summit of the standings with 10 points from five matches, putting them in a strong position to retain their crown.

However, WINSA still have one decisive fixture remaining against Kenya’s Matagaro on Friday. Matagaro are currently second with seven points from four matches, meaning the final encounter could have a major bearing on the championship race.

WINSA will need to secure maximum points from the Kenyan side to officially cement their position and complete what has so far been an impressive title defence.

With the trophy now within touching distance, all eyes will be on WINSA on Friday as they look to finish their campaign on a winning note and retain their FEASSA Primary School Netball crown.
