Light College Katikamu Eye Fifth Place After Classification Win
Light College Katikamu have secured a place in the battle for fifth and sixth positions at the ongoing FEASSA Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, after defeating V Wawa in the classification round.
The Ugandan side overcame V Wawa 54–32 in a game that initially proved competitive before Light College took firm control in the second half.
V Wawa edged the opening quarter 13–12, but Light College responded strongly to lead 25–22 at half-time. They continued to widen the gap in the third quarter, taking a 40–28 advantage before completing the victory at 54–32.
The result means Light College Katikamu will now face Tanzania’s Mkolani in the 5th/6th place playoff on Friday, August 21, with both sides aiming to finish the tournament on a high.
The other classification matches will see St Noa Girls (Uganda) face Bukokholo (Kenya) in the bronze medal playoff, while an all-Ugandan final will see St Mary’s Kitende take on Hamdan Islamic for the gold medal.
For Light College, Friday’s encounter against Mkolani presents an opportunity to finish fifth overall after a campaign that has seen them compete strongly against some of the region’s best secondary school netball sides.
